About
the Marin Human Race
What is
the Human Race?
The Marin Human Race is produced by the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit
Leadership of Marin. It is a fundraising event for the benefit of any
participating nonprofit agency or school in Marin. Attended by over 5,000
people, this race is the largest collaborative fundraiser in the county.
Thanks to generous sponsors, the Center is able to return 90% of all donations
raised to the community, making this an extremely effective fundraising
and friend-raising event for groups of all sizes. Last year the Center
returned over $350,000 to the community for the benefit of 115 nonprofits
and schools.
The Race:
The Marin Human Race starts and finishes at Marin Center Fairgrounds.
The mostly flat American Track and Field certified looping course is FUN
for everyone from the avid racer to walkers and rollers. Over a dozen
bands are placed around the race course to help keep spirits high and
legs moving.
Kids Races:
Kids Races are free. The 50-yard, 100-yard, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes
circle Spyglass Hill, and are open to children 12 and under. All participants
receive a ribbon!
Community Fair:
The Race Day Community Fair brings together over 100 nonprofit organizations
and supporting businesses. Located steps from the Finish Line and the
Main Stage, Race participants and spectators have the opportunity to meet
a variety of organizations to learn what type of work is being done in
the community and how they can get involved.
The Fair features fun activities
for people of all ages, entertainment, refreshments, a kids’ playground,
and more!
